* Message From Marc

Dear Fans,

The summer has begun and we're back on the road. I hope that everyone is as excited as we are to come to a "theatre near you". I think you'll agree that it's been too long since we've seen y'alls faces in the crowd.

With the new tour comes a new album, "S.O.S.: Save Our Soul". We put a lot of heart, and a ton of soul, into this project and I hope you all enjoy it. It was a labor of love trying to breathe new life into these classic tunes. We did our best to capture the vibe of the original versions, and with the help of some very talented people, I believe we did just that. For me, as a vocalist, it was harder than you might think to revisit the works of Al Green, Marvin Gaye and the like. To sit in the vocal room, all the lights down low, headphones so loud I can hear every breath I take. I had to transplant myself into a time when Vietnam was "over there" and the civil rights movement was hitting hard at home. The room was thick with the spirit of Marvin. "Rockets. Moonshots. Spend it on, the have-nots!" What an amazing song and what a privilege to honor Marvin's memory by recreating that moment, today, when his message is still relevant.

There are so many reasons why we chose to record this album, but only one matters to me. Getting music out to YOU! We've got a new album, a new label, and best of all, a newfound joy in a business that is often very depressing. We're on tour in support of this record, which means that we will be performing all sorts of great soul classics, not just the ones on the record. This transitional period is like the ginger at sushi; a little cleansing of the palate. If this record leaves you wanting to hear more original material, do not fret. We'll have an original material record out before you know it. However, I wanted to take this time of transition and pay respect to the artists and songs that made me what I am today, and the ideas that will guide my music in the future. I feel that with the rejuvenation of my love of music, the addition of all this new material, as well as the new members to the band, we are bigger and badder than ever before. But, before you come to one of the shows, understand that it will not be a typical MB show. It is a soul revue. We're dressed to impress and doing our best to give you all a view into the popular music of the 60s and 70s. Don't be disappointed if you don't hear your favorite MB original, unless your favorite song is "Home", "Rocksteady" or "Come In From The Cold".

Finally, we will be making an original record in the near future. The bar has been raised, my friends, and you can bet that things are only going to get better. Without the "Big Fist" of the big label executives trying to tell me what my fans want to hear, I can begin making music that my fans will love. I can't thank you enough for the love, support and patience. We can continue making music only as long as you allow, and because of that, I am expecting to be making music for a very long time. I hope to see smiling faces at all of the shows this summer, but I know not everyone will read this message, so I'm sorry ahead of time for playing the greatest soul music of all time and not the MB classics like "Where You Are".

Peace, Love, and Chicken Grease,
Marc Broussard
Bayou Bruce
